'Vazhi Pirandhadhu' is a 1964 Indian Tamil-language social drama film written and directed by A. K. Velan. The lead cast includes S. S. Rajendran, C. R. Vijayakumari, and M. R. Radha. The story follows a village woman who fights against patriarchal oppression with the help of a kind outsider. The film uses a song by poet Subramania Bharati to amplify its message of women's liberation. Produced by Arunachalam Pictures, the film features music composed by K. V. Mahadevan.
