Veerakkanal (transl. Fire of Bravery) is a 1960 Indian Tamil-language historical action film directed by G. K. Ramu and produced by P. S. Veerappa. The film stars Gemini Ganesan as Parandhaman and Anjali Devi as Rajathi, with M. Saroja, K. A. Thangavelu, P. S. Veerappa, M. N. Nambiar, M. N. Rajam, and Kumari Kamala in supporting roles. The story follows a lost prince who must reclaim his throne from a usurper who murdered his father. The film is noted for its elaborate costume design, sword-fight sequences, and dance numbers set to music by K. V. Mahadevan. The Indian Express called it a gorgeous costume piece and dance-cum music extravaganza. It was released on 2 December 1960 and distributed by P. S. V. Pictures in Madras.

Storyline

A young man named Parandhaman lives a simple life in a village, unaware that he is the son of a murdered king. When the tyrant who killed his father learns the prince is alive, he attacks the village and captures Parandhaman's love, Rajathi. Parandhaman must embrace his royal identity, fight through an army, and defeat the usurper to save his love and restore justice to the kingdom.
