'Kathiruntha Kangal' (1962) is a Tamil-language drama film directed by T. Prakash Rao. It stars Savitri in a dual role as twin sisters, alongside Gemini Ganesan. The story follows twins separated at birth due to poverty, who later cross paths as adults after a train accident causes a case of mistaken identity. The film is a remake of the 1960 Bengali film 'Smrithi Tukku Thak', itself adapted from a Bengali play. Savitri's performance was critically acclaimed and the film became a commercial success upon its release on 25 August 1962.

Storyline
