• Their first film together, Kalathur Kannamma (1960), was also the debut of a baby named Kamal Haasan. Gemini Ganesan and Savitri essentially launched his career — he played their son.
• In Pasamalar (1961), Savitri’s raw emotional intensity pushed Gemini to drop his usual polished charm. He later admitted she made him act with his eyes, not just his smile.
• Their 1962 hit Konjum Salangai directly inspired the 1970s trend of 'dance-heavy family dramas' in Tamil cinema. Choreographers still study that film’s footwork sequences.
