Sri Valli(1961)
Sri Valli is a 1961 Indian Tamil-language Hindu mythological film directed by T. R. Ramanna. The film stars Sivaji Ganesan as Lord Muruga and Padmini as Valli. It is based on the folk tale of Valli, a mountain princess who marries the god. The story follows Valli's devotion to Muruga and his playful attempts to win her love. The film was shot in Gevacolor, making it the first color film based on this tale. It features a soundtrack composed by G. Ramanathan with 20 songs. The film was released on 1 July 1961 and received mixed reviews. It was an average success at the box office.

Storyline
A mountain princess named Valli is deeply devoted to Lord Muruga. To test her love, the god disguises himself as a hunter and then as an old man. He must win her heart while hiding his true identity. Her protective father and a wild elephant stand in their way.
