Sivagami(1960)
Sivagami is a 1960 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by Antony Mitradas and produced by Muthiah Pictures. The film stars M. K. Thyagaraja Bhagavathar in his final screen appearance, alongside G. Varalakshmi in the title role. The story follows a dying singer who struggles to protect his wife from false accusations by his greedy stepson's mother. Bhagavathar, who died during production, appears as himself in a meta-fictional narrative. The film is notable for being a posthumous release for Bhagavathar, with the crew adapting the script after his death. Songs from his unfinished film Rajayogi were reused in the soundtrack. The film received attention for its honest portrayal of mortality and family conflict.
