Full Plot

Kalavani is set in two rival villages in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. The villages have been fighting for generations. Even children's cricket matches turn into violent brawls. This is the world where Arikki lives.

Arikki is a lazy and irresponsible young man. He has never passed his 12th standard exams. His father Ramasamy works in Dubai and sends money home. But Arikki takes most of that money by threatening his mother Lakshmi. He says he will break their TV if she does not give him cash. He spends his days drinking with friends, teasing girls, and getting into fights. He is a thief in every sense.

One day, Arikki sees Maheshwari from the rival village. He is instantly attracted to her. He starts following her everywhere and asks her to say "I love you." At first, Maheshwari thinks he is crazy and ignores him. But Arikki does not give up. He uses silly tricks and bold moves to win her attention. Slowly, Maheshwari starts to like him.

Maheshwari lives with her brother Ilango, a fierce and violent man. Ilango hates Arikki and his village. He has a long history of fighting with Arikki's gang. If Ilango finds out about Arikki's feelings, he will kill him. The love story becomes a dangerous secret.

After many funny attempts, Maheshwari finally confesses her love for Arikki. But instead of a sweet romance, Arikki decides to kidnap her. They run away and get married in a simple ceremony. Now they are husband and wife. But Ilango discovers what happened and goes crazy with rage. He grabs a knife and swears to chop Arikki into pieces. He gathers his gang and starts hunting the couple.

Arikki and Maheshwari are trapped. Ilango surrounds them with his men. There is no escape. Arikki knows he cannot fight Ilango, who is much stronger and angrier. Maheshwari is terrified. Arikki realizes his careless actions have put everyone in danger.

But Arikki uses his wit instead of his fists. He tells Ilango a funny story that makes him laugh. The tension breaks. Ilango calms down and listens. Arikki promises to take care of Maheshwari and become a responsible man. He swears to stop being a thief and start a new life. Ilango finally accepts their marriage. The two villages make peace. Arikki passes his exams, gets a job, and becomes a good husband. Love wins in the end.
