Trivia

  • The film was a remake of the 1982 Telugu movie 'Sitaara', also directed by Rama Rao Tatineni.
  • It was one of the few films where veteran actor Ashok Kumar played a central role as the troubled father.
  • The movie's music was composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal, a popular duo who rarely worked on such family-centric social dramas.
  • Actress Smita Patil was initially considered for a key role but did not ultimately appear in the final cast.
  • The story reflected common 1980s concerns about changing family values and generational conflict in India.
  • Despite its star cast, the film did not perform well commercially compared to other dramas of that year.
