Trivia

  • The film was directed by Shibu Mitra, who was better known as an actor in Bengali and Hindi cinema before turning to direction.
  • It was one of the few films where actor Raj Kiran played a leading role, as he was more commonly seen in supporting parts.
  • The movie's climax and themes of a man falsely declared dead were reminiscent of the 1975 blockbuster 'Deewaar', though with a family property angle.
  • Music was composed by Bappi Lahiri, who was at the peak of his popularity in the early 1980s for his disco-style scores.
  • The film was not a major commercial success, overshadowed by bigger hits of 1982 like 'Vidhaata' and 'Namak Halaal'.
  • Actress Ranjeeta Kaur, who played Sona, was a well-known star of the 1970s, and this film came during a quieter phase in her career.
  • The villain role of Sher Singh was played by Pinchoo Kapoor, a character actor often seen as a stern authority figure in films of that era.
