Satyen Bose(1982)
Satyen Bose (22 January 1916 – 9 June 1993) was an Indian film director and writer who worked in Bengali and Hindi cinema. He is best known for directing the award-winning films 'Jagriti' (1954) and 'Dosti' (1964), both of which won the Filmfare Best Movie Award. Without any formal training in filmmaking, Bose made his debut with the Bengali film 'Parivartan' in 1949. His films are noted for their simple, emotional storytelling and focus on human relationships. 'Dosti' was also entered into the 4th Moscow International Film Festival. Bose directed over 30 films in his career, including 'Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi' (1958) and 'Raat Aur Din' (1967). He died in Calcutta in 1993.
