Baseraa(1981)
Baseraa is a 1981 Hindi-language family drama film directed by Ramesh Talwar. It stars Shashi Kapoor, Rakhee, and Rekha in lead roles. The story follows two sisters, Sharda and Poornima, whose lives are shattered when Sharda loses her mental balance after a family tragedy. Poornima marries her sister's husband to keep the family together. Fourteen years later, Sharda recovers and returns home, forcing the family to hide the truth. The film is based on a Marathi novel by Leela Phansalkar. It was produced by Ramesh Behl under the banner Rose Movies. The music was composed by R.D. Burman with lyrics by Gulzar. Storyline
Two sisters, Sharda and Poornima, live a happy life. Sharda marries Balraj and has a son. Poornima becomes a widow on her wedding night. The shock drives Sharda insane. She is sent to a mental hospital. To save her sister's family, Poornima marries Balraj. Fourteen years later, Sharda recovers and returns home. The family must hide the truth from her. But secrets have a way of coming out.
