Trivia

  • Actress Moushumi Chatterjee, who played Geeta, was a popular leading lady but often played tragic or complex roles.
  • The villain's disguise as a holy man 'Mahayogi' reflected real-life fears about fake spiritual leaders in the 1970s.
  • The movie featured music by R.D. Burman, but none of the songs became major chartbusters like his other works.
  • It was one of the few films where actor Shashi Kapoor and actress Moushumi Chatterji shared significant screen time.
  • The plot device of a gas chamber used by the villain was considered quite dark for a mainstream romantic film of that era.
  • Despite starring popular actors, the film did not perform strongly at the box office upon its initial release.
