Vikram Vedha is a 2017 Indian Tamil-language neo-noir action thriller film co-written and directed by Pushkar–Gayathri. The film stars R. Madhavan as Vikram, a police officer, and Vijay Sethupathi as Vedha, a gangster. Shraddha Srinath, Kathir, and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar appear in supporting roles. The story follows Vikram, who leads a special task force to capture Vedha. When Vedha surrenders, he begins telling Vikram a series of stories that challenge his moral beliefs. The film uses a story-within-a-story structure inspired by the Vikramaditya and Betaal folktales. It was praised for its screenplay, performances, and direction. Vikram Vedha won multiple awards and became a cult classic. It was later remade in Hindi in 2022. The film was released on July 21, 2017, and is available for streaming on Prime Video.

Storyline
A tough police officer named Vikram is hunting a dangerous gangster named Vedha. But when Vedha surrenders, he does not want to escape. He wants to tell a story. Through a series of riddles and tales, Vedha forces Vikram to question everything he believes about right and wrong. The line between the cop and the criminal begins to blur.
