Parattai Engira Azhagu Sundaram is a 2007 Indian Tamil-language crime action film directed by Suresh Krissna. It stars Dhanush, Meera Jasmine, and Archana in lead roles. The story follows a village boy who moves to Chennai to buy gold bangles for his mother, but becomes a feared gangster. His mother travels to the city to find him, unaware of his new identity. The film is a remake of the 2005 Kannada film Jogi. It was produced with Rajinikanth's encouragement, who originally wanted to star in it. The film received negative reviews for its old-fashioned storytelling and excessive violence. It was a box-office failure upon its release on 27 April 2007.

Storyline
A simple village boy named Azhagu Sundaram arrives in Chennai to earn money for his mother's gold bangles. He gets caught in gang wars and becomes a feared criminal called Parattai. Meanwhile, his mother searches for him in the same city, never knowing his new identity.
