Sringaram(2007)
'Sringaram' is a 2007 Tamil-language period drama film directed by Sharada Ramanathan. The film stars Aditi Rao Hydari in her Tamil debut, alongside Manoj K. Jayan, Hamsa Moily, and Y. Gee. Mahendra. Set in the 1920s, the story follows Madhura, a Devadasi temple dancer who struggles against the oppressive landlord Sukumar. The film explores themes of art, caste, and exploitation within the Devadasi system. It won three National Film Awards, including Best Music Direction for violin maestro Lalgudi Jayaraman. The film was screened at multiple international film festivals before its theatrical release on 5 October 2007.
