Trivia
- The film is a remake of the 2017 Tamil movie of the same name, which also starred Vijay Sethupathi and R. Madhavan.
- Director Gayathri is the wife of the original Tamil film's director, Pushkar-Gayathri, making this a rare director-to-director remake within a family.
- Hrithik Roshan performed many of his own stunts, including a complex fight scene shot in a single take over several days.
- The film's title references an ancient Indian folktale about King Vikramaditya and a ghost named Betal, mirroring the cat-and-mouse dynamic.
- It was shot extensively in Lucknow to capture the city's real locations, including the old quarters and police stations.
- The role of Vedha was first offered to several other major Bollywood actors before Hrithik Roshan accepted it.
- The movie uses a distinctive color palette, with cooler blues for Vikram's scenes and warmer tones for Vedha's, to visually contrast their worlds.
