E (2006) is a Tamil-language medical thriller film directed by S. P. Jananathan. The film stars Jiiva as Easwaran, a slum orphan who worships money, and Nayanthara as Jothy, a bar dancer who tries to reform him. Ashish Vidyarthi plays Dr. Ramakrishnan, a corrupt doctor testing a deadly bio-weapon on poor slum dwellers. Pasupathy appears as Nellai Mani, a revolutionary who sacrifices his life to expose the conspiracy. The story is loosely based on John le Carré's novel The Constant Gardener. The film was released on 21 October 2006 during the Diwali festival. Pasupathy won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Villain for his performance.
