Kana Kandaen is a 2005 Indian Tamil-language thriller film directed by K. V. Anand in his directorial debut. The film stars Srikanth, Gopika, and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead roles. It is based on the novel Pudhaithaalum Varuven by the writer duo Subha. The story follows a young scientist who invents a desalination plant to solve a city's water crisis. Storyline
A young chemistry researcher named Bhaskar invents a machine that turns seawater into drinking water. He dreams of giving clean water to his drought-stricken city. But a wealthy and cruel moneylender named Madhan tricks him into a loan trap. Madhan wants to steal Bhaskar's invention for his own profit. Bhaskar must fight to protect his work and the woman he loves.
