Sivakasi is a 2005 Indian Tamil-language action drama film directed by Perarasu. The film stars Vijay, Asin, and Prakash Raj in lead roles. The story follows a welder named Sivakasi who hides his true identity after being falsely blamed for an accident. He returns to his village to rescue his mother and sister from his corrupt elder brother. The film features a soundtrack composed by Srikanth Deva and background score by Deva. It was released on 1 November 2005, coinciding with Diwali. Sivakasi ran for 150 days in theatres and was a commercial success. It was later remade in Telugu as Vijayadasami in 2007.
