Machi(2004)
'Machi' (2004) is a Tamil-language action film written and directed by K. S. Vasantha Kumar. The film stars Dushyanth Ramkumar as Karthik, a wealthy Mumbai brat forced into a Coimbatore medical college, and Shubha Poonja as his love interest Rakshita. Pasupathy plays the antagonist Narayanan, a former beggar turned ruthless politician. The story follows Karthik's transformation from an arrogant drunk to a loyal friend after four classmates save his life. The film was shot entirely in Coimbatore after a 45-day rehearsal period, a first for Tamil cinema. A. R. Reihana, sister of A. R. Rahman, composed the soundtrack. Critics praised the fast-paced screenplay and realistic scenes but noted issues with the dragged second half and music. The film released on June 25, 2004.

Storyline
A rich, arrogant drunk named Karthik is forced to study medicine in Coimbatore. He bullies his poor classmates until a near-fatal accident leaves him bleeding on the road. His four classmates save his life, and Karthik changes completely. Now he must protect his new friends from a powerful politician whose son he accidentally disfigured.
