A. R. Reihana is a Tamil cinema playback singer and music composer, best known as the elder sister of Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman and mother of actor-composer G. V. Prakash Kumar. She made her playback singing debut in the 2001 Tamil film Chocolate and gained wider recognition singing 'Balleilakka' in the blockbuster Sivaji: The Boss (2007) alongside S. P. Balasubrahmanyam and Benny Dayal. As a composer, she has scored music for films including Machi (2004), Pesuvathu Kiliya (2009), Manchottile Veedu (2012), and Yenda Thalaiyila Yenna Vekkala (2018), which she also produced. She serves as a goodwill ambassador for Raindropss, a Chennai-based youth social organization, and continues to contribute to Tamil and Malayalam film music.
