Trivia

  • The film's title is a twist on a famous Tamil proverb, which originally means 'giving weapons to a fool'.
  • Director Srinath also wrote the screenplay, drawing inspiration from classic suspense comedies in Tamil and Hollywood.
  • It was one of the few Tamil films shot extensively in the hill station of Yercaud for its misty, isolated setting.
  • Actor Santhanam, known for comedy, played a relatively serious supporting role as the hero's friend.
  • The plot's central rule—no killing inside the house—mirrors an old code of hospitality in some rural communities.
  • The movie had a limited theatrical run and quickly moved to television, gaining a cult following on TV channels.
  • A minor subplot involving a hidden treasure was edited down significantly in the final cut to tighten the story.
