Bagavathi is a 2002 Indian Tamil-language gangster action film written and directed by A. Venkatesh. The film stars Vijay as a tea shop owner who turns into a gangster after his brother is murdered. Reema Sen, Vadivelu, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Jai appear in supporting roles. The story follows Bagavathi's journey from a peaceful man to a violent avenger as he protects his brother's unborn child from a powerful politician. The film was released on Diwali 2002 and became a commercial hit. It was later remade in Kannada as Kashi from Village.

Storyline
Bagavathi runs a tea shop and dreams of a happy life with his younger brother Guna. But when Guna is killed by his girlfriend's powerful father, Bagavathi must transform into a gangster to protect his brother's unborn child and seek revenge.
