Trivia

  • The film was originally titled 'Mutham' but was later released in some regions as 'Mutham: The Kiss' to highlight its romantic thriller theme.
  • Director S. A. Chandrasekhar, known for action films, ventured into the horror-thriller genre with this movie, which was a departure from his usual style.
  • Actor Thalaivasal Vijay, who played the old man, was primarily known for supporting roles in village dramas, making his villainous turn here notable.
  • The beach resort and forest scenes were filmed in and around Chennai, using locations to create an isolated, eerie atmosphere on a modest budget.
  • The film's plot involving a resort built on a cursed forest drew comparisons to earlier Tamil horror films like 'Chandramukhi', though it was less successful.
  • Music director Srikanth Deva composed the soundtrack, which included a popular romantic duet that received more attention than the film itself.
  • Despite its thriller elements, the movie had a limited theatrical run and is now mostly remembered as a niche early-2000s horror attempt.
