Dheena is a 2001 Indian Tamil-language action film written and directed by A. R. Murugadoss in his directorial debut. The film stars Ajith Kumar, Suresh Gopi, and Laila in lead roles. The story follows Dheenadhayalan, a loyal rowdy who works for his adopted brother Aathikesavan. When a love affair leads to a family tragedy, the brothers become enemies. The film explores themes of brotherhood, loyalty, and breaking the cycle of violence. It marked the beginning of Ajith Kumar's image as a mass action hero. Storyline
Dheena works for his adopted brother Aathi, a powerful gangster. When his sister falls in love with a man from a rival family, tragedy strikes. Aathi blames Dheena and orders him to kill. Dheena refuses and must protect the woman he loves while fighting his own brother.
