Trivia

  • The film's title 'Thai Porandaachu' is a Tamil phrase meaning 'January has arrived,' often linked to the Pongal festival season.
  • Director R.K. Kalaimani was known for comedy-dramas, and this film marked one of his later directorial works in the early 2000s.
  • Actor Vivek, who played Giri, was already a popular comedian, but this film gave him a rare leading role in a full-length feature.
  • The character name 'Torture Dharma' for the antagonist became a memorable nickname in Tamil cinema for a comically fearsome figure.
  • The movie's plot of a man pretending a stranger is his wife echoes themes from the 1994 Hindi film 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!', though with a comedic twist.

  • The soundtrack was composed by Deva, a prolific film composer known for his work in 1990s and early 2000s Tamil cinema.
