Ulavuthurai (1998) is a Tamil-language action film directed by D. S. Ramesh Selvan. The film stars Vijayakanth, Meena, and Sanghavi in lead roles, with Radha Ravi, Janagaraj, and Hemanth Ravan in supporting parts. The story follows Commodore Vasanth Periyasamy, a decorated naval officer who is betrayed by corrupt colleagues after his wife is killed during a terrorist exchange. Framed as a traitor, he fakes his death and lives anonymously as a car driver named Krishnamoorthy. Years later, when mysterious deaths at sea threaten national security, the navy secretly recruits him to investigate. The film is notable for being Vijayakanth's 125th film and the first Tamil movie to feature underwater cinematography. It was released on 14 January 1998 during the Pongal festival and received mixed reviews from critics. The music was composed by Shah with lyrics by Vairamuthu.

Storyline
