Vasantha Vaasal is a 1996 Indian Tamil-language romantic action film written, produced and directed by M.R. The film stars Vijay and Swathi in the lead roles, with Mansoor Ali Khan, Vadivelu, and Kovai Sarala in supporting roles. The story follows Vijay, a young man obsessed with becoming a movie star, who moves to the city and rents a room in Divya's house. Divya is a serious student who hates the film industry, leading to constant clashes between them. Their conflict slowly turns into love, but Divya's maternal uncle Ganesh wants to marry her and creates obstacles. The film was made on a budget of ₹20 lakh and collected over ₹1.30 crore at the box office, becoming a commercial success. It was Vijay's first film for an outside banner, as he was previously associated with his home production company. The soundtrack was composed by debutant Masa. The film was released in March 1996.

Storyline
