Trivia
- The film's director N. Rathnam was also a noted producer who backed several successful films in the 1990s.
- Actor Sathyaraj, who played Dhandapani, was known for his village headman roles, but this was one of his few films where his character's son is the romantic lead.
- The movie's music was composed by Deva, who used folk instruments to match the rural setting, but it did not produce a major hit song like his other works.
- This was one of the early films for actress Roja, who played Chandra, shortly after her popular debut in the Tamil film 'Chinna Thambi'.
- The story revolves around a panchayat election, a theme less common in Tamil cinema of that time compared to urban or gangster plots.
- Despite being a family drama with action, the film had a limited theatrical run and is not widely remembered among 1990s Tamil hits.
- Some scenes were shot in real village locations in Tamil Nadu to capture authentic rural life and conflicts.
