Sundara Kandam (transl. The Beautiful Chapter) is a 1992 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film written and directed by K. Bhagyaraj. The film stars Bhagyaraj, Bhanupriya, and Sindhuja in lead roles. The story follows a strict Tamil teacher who is pursued by his brilliant but mischievous student. The teacher refuses to marry the student due to his ethical principles. The film is notable for its blend of comedy and emotional drama. It was released on 15 January 1992 during the Pongal festival and emerged a commercial success. Bhagyaraj won the Best Story Writer award at the 13th Cinema Express Awards for this film. The film was later remade in Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada.

Storyline
A strict Tamil teacher named Shanmugamani returns to his old school. A brilliant student named Priya falls in love with him after a misunderstanding. He refuses her love because of his principles. She leaves school and chases him relentlessly. He marries another woman to escape her. But Priya's love is stronger than anything he can do.
