Vanakkam Vaathiyare is a 1991 Indian Tamil-language action film directed by Ameerjan. The film stars Karthik and Saranya Ponvannan in lead roles. The story follows Rajappa, a rowdyist who promises his dying mother to abandon violence. He moves to a village terrorized by gangster Malaichami, played by Radharavi. Rajappa must find a way to defeat the villain without breaking his oath. The film features a background score by A. R. Rahman, marking his debut in that role. Songs were composed by V. R. Storyline
