The Kangani system traps them in debt, and they face brutal treatment from the plantation management. The film is adapted from the novel *Red Tea* by Paul Harris Daniel. Storyline

Raasa is a poor villager who signs up for a job on a tea plantation, hoping to earn money for his family. But the job is a lie. He and the other villagers become slaves, trapped by debt and violence. Raasa must find a way to survive and escape, but the plantation system is designed to keep him there forever.
