Kotha Bangaru Lokam is a 2008 Indian Telugu-language romantic drama film directed by debutant Srikanth Addala and produced by Dil Raju. The film stars Varun Sandesh, Shweta Basu Prasad, Prakash Raj, and Jayasudha in lead roles. The story follows Balu, a middle-class college student, and Swapna, the daughter of a strict rich father, as they navigate first love and separation. After a photograph of them is published, Swapna is taken away, and a series of misunderstandings leads to a four-year separation. The film was praised for its fresh screenplay, youthful energy, and strong performances. It was commercially successful and won two Nandi Awards and five Filmfare Awards South. The film was released on 9 October 2008.

Storyline
Balu, a shy middle-class boy, falls in love with Swapna, the daughter of a strict rich father. When a photo of them is published, Swapna is taken away. Balu lies to his parents and fails his exams. On the day Swapna runs away to be with him, Balu's father dies. They are separated for four years, each believing the other is safe. Can they find their way back to each other?
