→Trivia
- The film's title 'Vanangaan' is an old Tamil word meaning 'one who bows' or 'a respectful person', contrasting with the lead character's rebellious nature.
- Director Bala reportedly had the lead actor, Arya, undergo a month of training with a special educator to understand deaf-mute communication.
- The film's soundtrack was composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, marking his first collaboration with director Bala after several years.
- Portions of the movie were shot in a real government-run home for the destitute in Madurai to add authenticity.
- Actress Lijomol Jose, who plays the sister Devi, learned basic sign language for her scenes to improve the on-screen chemistry.
- The story is loosely inspired by real-life incidents of exploitation in care homes reported in Tamil Nadu newspapers.
- The climax sequence was filmed over 12 nights in a single location to maintain continuity in lighting and mood.
