- The film's title is inspired by a 1980s Kishore Kumar song from the film 'Dil' (1990), which was also directed by Anurag Basu's mentor, Mahesh Bhatt.

- The film was shot over a long period, with breaks, to accommodate the schedules of its large ensemble cast of major stars.
- It features a cameo appearance by veteran actor Dharmendra, linking the film's modern stories to a classic era of Hindi cinema.
- The production design intentionally uses distinct color palettes for each story to visually separate the interconnected narratives.
- Some scenes were filmed in the heritage trams of Kolkata, a city rarely featured as a primary setting in recent Hindi films.
