Preminchu(2001)
Preminchu is a 2001 Telugu-language drama film directed by Boyina Subba Rao and produced by D. Rama Naidu. The film stars Laya as Meena, a blind college student, alongside Sai Kiran, Roopa, Murali Mohan, and Lakshmi. The story follows Meena, who is abandoned by her mother at birth due to her blindness, and raised by her father to become an independent woman. She falls in love with Suresh, but must confront her estranged mother when family secrets surface. The film was showcased at the International Film Festival of India in 2001 and won five Nandi Awards, including Best Feature Film and Best Actress. Songs were picturised in Ooty and Amsterdam. The film was released in 2001 in Andhra Pradesh.
