Trivia
- The film's title role was initially offered to actor Rajinikanth, but he declined due to scheduling conflicts.
- This was the first and only time veteran actress Sridevi acted in a film with Chiranjeevi as the male lead.
- The movie's climax was shot in a specially constructed large set designed to look like a villain's den.
- Composer M.M. Keeravani reused the tune of the song 'Prema Entha Madhuram' from his earlier Kannada film 'Nammoora Mandara Hoove'.
- The film's release was delayed by several months due to extensive post-production work on its action sequences.
- A subplot involving the blue film racket was considered quite bold for mainstream Telugu cinema at the time.
- Despite Chiranjeevi's star power, the film underperformed commercially compared to his other releases from that period.
