Trivia

  • The film was originally titled 'Assembly Rowdy' to highlight the political theme, but it was also promoted with the tagline 'Idi Oka Rowdy Katha' (This is a Rowdy's Story).
  • This was one of the few films where actor Rajasekhar played a character named Shivaji, a name often associated with his frequent co-star Chiranjeevi's roles.
  • Director B. Gopal and composer Raj-Koti collaborated for the first time on this film, starting a successful partnership for later action movies.
  • The climax was shot in a specially constructed large set depicting the legislative assembly, which was uncommon for Telugu films of that era.
  • Actress Vijayashanti, who played the female lead, was already a major star in Telugu politics-themed films before this movie.
  • The film's story of a common man fighting corruption in elections mirrored real-life political discussions in Andhra Pradesh in the early 1990s.
  • Despite being an action drama, the movie included a popular comedy track by actors Brahmanandam and Kota Srinivasa Rao.
