The story is set in the fictional village of Nakkabokkalapaadu and revolves around a wealthy woman who opposes her nephew's attempts to marry her daughters. Music for the film was composed by K. V. Mahadevan. The soundtrack includes the song "Em Vaana," which was inspired by Ilaiyaraaja's composition from the Tamil film Dharma Pathini.
