Biography

Thakkaali Srinivasan (c. 1953–2026) was an Indian film director, music composer, and producer who worked primarily in Tamil cinema, known for his work in the thriller, horror, and murder mystery genres. His directorial credits include Jenma Natchathram (1991), Witness (1995), Asokavanam (2001), and Aduthathu (2011), the last of which was a thriller adapted from Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None, set on an uninhabited island with a reality TV show premise and starring Sriman and Nassar. As part of the composer duo Premi-Srini alongside Manachanallur Giridharan, he contributed to the music of several Tamil productions in addition to his directing work. In his final years he stepped away from filmmaking to run a charitable ashram in Bengaluru, where he passed away in March 2026 at the age of 72.
