Cheyyar Ravi was an Indian Tamil cinema and television director, active from the early 1990s until his death on 11 March 2017. His directorial debut was Dharma Seelan (1993), featuring Prabhu in a dual role as father and son, with music by Ilaiyaraaja, followed by Harichandra (1998) starring Karthik. After his two feature films, he transitioned primarily to Tamil television, directing long-running serials including Anandham (2003–2009) for Sathya Jyothi Films. He is credited with establishing Gopuram (2000–2002) among the early popular Tamil soap operas of the era.
