Legacy & Influence
Jeevitha Rajasekhar, born Jeevitha, is a prominent figure in Telugu cinema, recognized for her multifaceted career as an actress, producer, and television presenter. She entered the film industry in the late 1980s and quickly gained attention for her performances in a range of roles, from glamorous portrayals to character-driven parts. Her career trajectory showcases a significant evolution from a leading actress to a influential producer and a public figure through television. A major contribution to Indian cinema, particularly Telugu cinema, is her pioneering work in production. Alongside her husband, actor Rajasekhar, she founded the production company 'Jeevitha Rajasekhar Productions'. Through this venture, she produced several notable films in the 1990s and 2000s, including 'Maa Nannaki Pelli' and 'Police Police', which often featured her husband in the lead and addressed commercial and socially relevant themes. This move into production at a time when few actress-led production houses existed demonstrated her business acumen and commitment to shaping content. Her impact extends beyond acting and production into television, where she hosted the highly popular and long-running talk show 'Jeevitham'. The show, known for its candid interviews with film personalities and discussions on social issues, became a cultural touchstone in Telugu households, further solidifying her status as a respected media personality. Jeevitha's career represents a successful transition and sustained relevance across different entertainment mediums—films, production, and television—making her a notable example of versatility and entrepreneurial spirit in the South Indian film industry.
