Iconic Roles
Akhanda
A menacing Tantrik antagonist in this Balakrishna-starrer, one of Ayyappa P. Sharma's most-discussed villainous roles known for his intense, supernatural screen presence.
Bimbisara
A sorcerer/godman antagonist obsessed with unlocking Bimbisara's treasure vault, a memorable supernatural villain role that expanded his pan-India recognition.
KGF: Chapter 2
Garuda's trusted commander and bodyguard in the blockbuster KGF franchise, a supporting role that gave him visibility across pan-India audiences.
Defining Moments
As Vanaram, Garuda's commander-in-chief, he confronts Rocky who has infiltrated the KGF compound and killed guards at the entrance. The standoff where Vanaram surrounds Rocky with 400 guards — only for Rocky to offer him a deal — became one of the most memorable henchman moments in the film.
His most iconic role due to KGF's pan-Indian blockbuster reach. Vanaram's imposing screen presence and loyal-commander energy made him a fan-favorite villain; he reprised the role in KGF Chapter 2 (2022), cementing it as a career-defining character.
As the dark sorcerer Prachanda (Atthma), he and Gajendra launch a simultaneous supernatural and physical assault on Akhanda (Balakrishna) while he performs the Maha Mrityunjaya Homam fire ritual to lift a deadly curse. The villains attack mid-ritual, but an empowered Akhanda ultimately destroys both.
Gave Sharma his most dramatically intense performance — the 'villain desecrating a sacred ritual' setup demanded theatrical over-the-top menace, which is his signature style. The climax confrontation is widely discussed in Telugu mass-masala cinema circles.
