Deepan Chakravarthy is a Tamil film playback singer and music composer, son of legendary singer Thiruchi Loganathan (known as 'Isai Thendral'), the first playback singer in Tamil cinema, and grandson of actress C. T. Rajakantham. He made his playback singing debut in 1980 under composer Ilaiyaraaja with the song 'Poongathave Thaal Thiravai' from the film Nizhalgal, and won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer (1982–83) for 'Poojaikaaga Vaazhum Poovai' from Kathal Oviyam (1983). He later transitioned into original music composition for Tamil films, contributing background scores and original music to independent productions including Sathiya Sothanai (2023), directed by Suresh Sangaiah. His compositions reflect his deep-rooted classical training and the legacy of a family that spans three generations of Tamil film music.
