KV Anand denys the rumour about ‘Ayan 2’

This morning, there was a rumour in social media that cinematographer-turned-director KV Anand is likely to make a sequel of ‘Ayan’, his 2009 blockbuster with Suriya, as his next project. What set tongues wagging was a tweet by writer Suresh of the SuBa duo, who collaborate with the director on his scripts.

\"Two movies people frequently asked our team to do sequel to the original: KO & AYAN. KAVAN was somewhat KO's sequel. So Well...,\" (sic) Suresh had tweeted and it is the open-ended nature of this tweet that led people to believe that perhaps there was going to be a sequel to Ayan.

However, when KV Anand was asked about this and he clarified, \"I'm not really keen on making sequels. Even if I want to do one, I'd do it as something different yet similar, like how I did with Kavan. So, my next project is not Ayan 2. I'm currently working on a new project, but it is in a very early stage to divulge details.\"
