• Balu Mahendra cast Pasi Sathya in Marupadiyum (1993) after seeing her in a small role in another film. She was so nervous on the first day that he stopped the shoot, sat her down, and narrated the entire story to her like a bedtime tale until she relaxed.
• On the sets of Sathi Leelavathi (1995), Balu Mahendra would act out every scene for Pasi Sathya first — including the female roles — to show her the exact rhythm and pause he wanted. She later said that his mimicry was so precise she just copied him and it worked.
• After Marupadiyum flopped, Balu Mahendra told Pasi Sathya she had 'the face of a survivor' and insisted she not quit acting. She stayed in the industry largely because of that one conversation.
