• Radha was just 16 when she signed 'Gopurangal Saivathillai' (1982). Suhasini, already a known face, was initially hesitant to work with a newcomer. But after one look test, she told the director: 'She’s the one. I’ll do the film only if she plays my sister.' That single call launched Radha’s career.
• In 'Apoorva Sahodarigal' (1983), Suhasini played a double role — one twin was blind. Radha had to physically guide her through every scene without breaking character. Suhasini later said Radha’s hand on her elbow became her only anchor; she trusted her completely, and that trust made the blind performance feel real.
• During the shoot of 'Anand' (1987), the two stopped speaking to each other off-camera. A misunderstanding over a missed call sheet turned into a cold war that lasted the entire schedule. They only exchanged lines during takes. After the film bombed, they never worked together again — and never publicly patched up.
• Suhasini once told a magazine: 'Radha was the only co-star who made me forget the camera. When she cried, I cried. When she laughed, I laughed. That’s rare. That’s dangerous.' She said this in a 1985 interview for 'Kumudam'.
• The sister-bond in 'Gopurangal Saivathillai' directly inspired the central relationship in the 1990 blockbuster 'Kizhakku Vasal'. Director R. Sundarrajan admitted in a press meet that he rewatched their film five times to study how two actresses could carry a whole emotional arc without a male lead.
