• Prabu Solomon cast Thambi Ramaiah as the hero's friend in Mynaa (2010) after seeing him in a small TV role. Thambi was so nervous on the first day that Prabu had to shoot his scenes in one take to calm him down.
• In Kumki (2012), Prabu Solomon let Thambi Ramaiah improvise most of his dialogue as the comic sidekick. Thambi's real-life village slang became the character's voice, and Prabu kept the camera rolling even when Thambi went off-script.
