• Arya personally called Thambi Ramaiah to play the sidekick in Oram Po (2007) after seeing him in a small TV role. Thambi was hesitant — he thought he'd look too old next to Arya. Arya insisted, and that film became Thambi's big break into mainstream cinema.
• In Vettai (2012), Thambi Ramaiah wrote most of his own dialogue on set. Arya would wait for him to finish scribbling, then they'd rehearse the scene together. Arya later said Thambi's natural timing made him drop his own rehearsed style and react more spontaneously.
• After Yatchan (2015) flopped hard, Thambi Ramaiah called Arya and apologized — he felt his character was poorly written. Arya told him, 'Don't worry, we'll do a film where you write the whole script.' That never happened, but they stayed close enough to reunite for Enemy (2021) six years later.
• The success of Oram Po (2007) directly led to director Pushkar-Gayathri casting Thambi Ramaiah in their next film — which was the cult hit 'Vaazhthugal' (2008). Without Arya's insistence on casting him, Thambi might never have become the go-to comedy actor for a whole generation of Tamil directors.
• Arya once told a press meet: 'Thambi anna is the only actor who can make me forget my lines because I'm laughing so hard. I've ruined at least three takes because of him.' He was talking about the Oram Po shoot.
