• Navin Nischol was already a known face when he agreed to star in 'Saboot' (1980) — but Tulsi Ramsay was still finding his footing as a director. Tulsi later admitted he was nervous directing a bigger star, so Navin deliberately showed up late to the first day of shoot just to break the ice and make Tulsi relax.
• On the set of 'Dahshat' (1981), Tulsi Ramsay would block the horror scenes with extreme precision — but Navin Nischol would deliberately mess up his first take to force Tulsi to laugh and loosen up. Tulsi later said Navin's playful sabotage made the final scenes feel more natural.
• The success of 'Saboot' (1980) directly convinced the Ramsay brothers to cast Navin Nischol again in 'Dahshat' (1981) — and that film's box office run helped the Ramsay family secure financing for their next five horror projects. Without Navin, the Ramsay horror factory might have stalled in the early 80s.
• After 'Dahshat' (1981), Navin Nischol and Tulsi Ramsay stayed in touch for years — but never worked together again until the 2000 remake of 'Dahshat'. Tulsi called Navin personally to ask him to reprise his role, and Navin agreed without even reading the script.
• Tulsi Ramsay once said in an interview: 'Navin bhai was the only actor who could make a horror scene funny without making it a joke. He'd wink at me between takes and say, "Tulsi, yeh ghost bada sharif hai." I miss that.'
